POATE '25

As Official Fashion Curator for The 2025 Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), IGC Fashion presented two exhibitions and two runway performances centred on Lubugo. Featuring ten garments from the Ngaali and Gugumuka collection, as well as work from artisans including Mawejje Creations, Amylia Clothing, Kibirango Gabriel and Sanvra, the show spotlighted Uganda’s burgeoning sustainable fashion industry. Highlights included a dramatic runway at the opening ceremony, and the Culture Corner, a public space for immersive fashion, crafts, and community-led design on the festival day of the event.
