BRITISH TEXTILE BIENNIAL '25

Showcased in the 2025 British Textile Biennial, Woven Worlds was a partnership between Salford Slow Fashion CIC (UK) and IGC (Uganda), built on workshops in the UK and Uganda exploring identity through fashion, poetry and textiles. The project amplified marginalized voices, addressing the stigma faced by care-experienced individuals and survivors of war, while sparking dialogue on textile geopolitics. In connecting Manchester’s industrial cotton history with the decline of Lubugo in Uganda and exposing the realities of waste colonialism, Woven Worlds highlighted global inequities through fashion.
