Showcased at the Buganda Heritage and Tourism Board, this was a multimedia exhibition and set of performances showcasing the Woven Worlds collection created in partnership between Salford Slow Fashion CIC (UK) and IGC Fashion. Designed out of workshops in the UK and Uganda exploring identity through fashion, poetry and textiles, the project amplified marginalized voices, addressing the stigma faced by care-experienced individuals and survivors of war, while sparking dialogue on textile geopolitics. In connecting Manchester’s industrial cotton history with the decline of Lubugo in Uganda and exposing the realities of waste colonialism, Woven Worlds highlighted global inequities through fashion.
